Cooperative Institute (CI) Committee
NOAA Administrative Order 216-107 (effective September 2, 2005) established new NOAA policy on Cooperative Institutes (CIs) and created the Standing Committee on CIs to ensure compliance with the new policy and, when requested, to provide information to assist the Research Council with general CI program oversight.

Social Science Committee
Established in February 2007, the Social Science Committee is an
advisory body to the NOAA Research Council designed to strengthen,
coordinate and integrate the agency’s social science research
and analysis capabilities.

Monitoring Research Committee
The newest Committee, formed in May 2007, is dedicated to the ongoing
and systematic monitoring of NOAA’s research enterprise to ensure
research activities are effectively linked to milestones and ensure
the ongoing quality, relevance, and value of NOAA’s research.
